Circa '21 – Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our theatre or what to expect when you get here? Here's a list of the questions we're asked most often. If you still have questions, we're here to help! Contact us at 309-786-7733.
When does the season start?
Our mainstage shows are grouped together by season, which always begins with the holiday show starting in early November, and the season ends early November the following year.
What's the dress code at Circa '21?
We don't have any specific dress code. Most people dress in business casual attire, but you'll see everything from jeans to dresses & suits.
Where do I park?
There's on-street parking available all around the theatre and downtown area. If you have someone in your party with mobility issues, you can drop them off in front of the theatre and then park your car.
I'm coming for a matinee. Do I need a special parking pass?
There are no special parking passes for matinees. If you're coming for a matinee, be sure to arrive after 11:30 a.m. and park in one of the 4-hour parking places around the theatre & downtown area. If you arrive before 11:30, we cannot guarantee you will not be ticketed.
Are there special menus for people with dietary restrictions or allergies?
Everything on the matinee & evening menus are marked for allergies. You'll see things marked as gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, garlic-free and onion-free. There are also markings for items that are vegetarian. If you want to look to see what's available before you arrive, there's a link to the menu under the show logo on the home page of the website. If you have restrictions beyond what's available on the menu or if you need a vegan meal, please call the ticket office at 309-786-7733 ext. 2 and request a vegan meal or a no spice meal. We need 48-hours notice to accommodate those requests.
Are there age requirements for your shows?
Circa ’21 productions are full-scale musical and play productions, and evenings can last up to 5 hours. Children ages 4 and older are welcome in a mainstage show. Children under the age of 4, including infants and toddlers, will not be admitted into the theatre. For the hour-long children's theatre shows, however, all ages are welcome with a purchased ticket. Everyone needs a ticket for children's shows regardless of age.
How much should I tip my Bootlegger?
We believe that tipping should reflect the quality of your service. For that reason, we do not add a gratuity onto the ticket price of an individual reservation. A gratuity of 15-20% of your total bill (which includes approximately half of your
ticket price plus desserts and drinks) is considered appropriate.
