1. Performance Class

Saturdays, February 6 - April 18

Singing! Dancing! Acting! In this class you’ll develop the skills it takes to become a true triple threat! In this 90 minute class, we’ll work on dance, vocal, and acting technique, as well as putting it all together in some favorite musical theatre numbers! Both classes will combine to perform a preshow for 3 performances of the Circa ‘21 children’s show Madagascar! Anyone can sign up for the *Level 1 class. Students must be approved for the Level 2 class.

You must be available for both tech rehearsals and all three performances in order to participate in the class.

*Level 1 is not for novices. It is aimed for people who have a few years of performance experience, but don't have lots of formal training. Being in the Level 1 class will assume you are already familiar with basic steps and principles, and will build technical skills.

2. Advanced Audition Technique - Open to ages 14-25

Wednesdays, February 3 - March 3

Auditioning is a talent all it’s own, and in this class you will work on honing and shaping that skill! This interactive and immersive class is created to ensure that you exit the course with properly prepared audition materials, as well as the confidence and focus to let your talents shine. Students will be asked to bring in an audition book with at least 2 prepared song choices, a brief monologue, and a headshot and resume. For the first four classes students will perform and receive feedback, including techniques and approaches on how to stay grounded and invested in the material. Each class will also conclude with learning a short dance combination. Our final class will be run as a mock audition for Circa ‘21 owner/producer, Denny Hitchcock. Students will present their prepared materials as well as learn and perform a brief dance combination, just as they would in a regular audition. This course is designed for students who already have some experience in theatre and are wanting to take their skills to the next level. This course is not appropriate for beginners.

  • 5 weeks

  • 4 weeks of classes

  • 1 week mock audition for Circa ‘21 Owner/Producer, Denny Hitchcock

  • Wednesdays 4-6 p.m.

  • Cost $100

  • Maximum enrollment: 7 students

Health Guidelines for All Classes/Camps

In accordance with Illinois State Health Regulations, participation will be limited to ensure we are gathering in groups of 10 or less. Each student must bring and be prepared to wear a facemask covering their mouth and nose. We will be practicing social distancing to the best of our abilities, hand sanitizer will be available, and the space will be sanitized before/between each session. Temperatures will be checked upon entry and students showing a fever will be sent home.
